Sharani Series Books 1-3 Review

*Disclaimer: I received Skies (book 3) by Kevin Nielsen free from Future House Publishing in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. The opinions below are my own and are based purely on my experience in reading the book. Edit: I did purchase the book on it’s release date.

Review:

When I was contacted and asked to review the ARC (Advanced readers copy) of Skies, I immediately said yes. However I was somewhat concerned that I would struggle with it as I had not read the previous two books in the series.

I wasn’t sure if this would be the sort of book I could read quickly as it wasn’t something I would have picked for myself.

However I am always surprised when I prove myself wrong.

I started reading Sands (Book 1) on the 10th August and finished the 3rd book on the 19th, between that time I had two days where I couldn’t read at all.

I was blown away right from the start.

Sands was the perfect way to start the series. It gave characters depth and the the storyline was fantastic,  the twists towards the end were brilliant. When I’d finished I literally couldn’t wait to start the second book.

Storms (book 2) continued from it perfectly, it added more depth to the characters and you found yourself really rooting for some of them and questioning others. I felt like I cared what happened to the clans, the characters, the animals.  The end was again brilliant, it sneaks up on you and although you sense what may happen you still aren’t prepared for the scope of it.

Skies (book 3) followed straight on from where we left off with book two. I was intrigued from the start, what would happen to our beloved main character?

The growth in some of the secondary characters has been fantastic,  one which over the course of the 2nd book becomes more of a main character then settling into that role perfectly for the 3rd book.

Every single character that is introduced whether it’s a large part of or small part has such personality,  all unique in there own way.

I am so excited to see if the story will continue and if a 4th book will be released. I feel like I’m invested in the lives of those I’ve been reading about and I want more.

Kevin Nielsen the author writes amazingly well. I feel honoured to have had the experience of reading these books and receiving the 3rd book prior to it’s release.
