The Review:
I had looked forward to reading this book for what felt like eternity. Before I’d even read the blerb I had been enticed by it’s beautiful cover.
I was really excited to include this in my Winter Wonderland book box and I got reading it straight away.
I always worry about reading a book I’ve been anticipating simply because I want it to be as good as I have imagined.
I certainly wasn’t disappointed with this one.
I really enjoyed it right from the first chapter which started with Snow stuck in an insane asylum for an accident she barely remembers. The first part of the book focuses on her life there, her loves, her hates and her friends. This is where we also meet Bane, Snow’s focus and affection.
Without spoiling it for others, as things develop within the story we learn there is a lot more to Snow than meets the eye. As her life is unravelled in front of her we also see it unfold and we some huge character development for her with the changes that are thrown upon her.
We also meet Jagger who becomes a big character later in the book and he turned out to be one of my favourite characters.
For those who love a good fairytale this book would really suit you. The way it is written feels more like a traditional fairytale than any I have read for a while.
The only reason it lost half a star in my review was that when I finished I need feel that ‘need’ for a sequel the way I had when I finished other books like Six Of Crows (you can see my review for that here).
Stealing Snow is a magical fantasy, perfect as a winter read and suitable for all ages.
