Today I have the lovely Beverley over at Love From Poppy Designs.

1) Tell us a little about you, who is the person behind the shop?

Hi, I am Bev, a 34 year old mum of two little Edwards’.  Poppy is 6 and Chester is 4.  My husband and I both have our very own mini me’s.  I grew up in Northampton before travelling and eventually settling up in the North West after a move prompted by my husband’s job.  Before I had children I worked as a beauty therapist and later an office manager.  I love my job now, and the fact I can work around the children makes it the best type of job I could’ve hoped for.

2) What does your store sell?

My shop is relatively new and I sell Leather Travelers Notebooks and plan to add accessories and all of the elements that create a functional, pretty and useful planner.  The covers are made from very high quality leather and are handmade and tooled from start to finish.  Every aspect of the creative process is done by me and it is a process I love and take the care and attention to ensure only the highest quality products leave my workshop.

3) Is there an item which you have made that you have loved above all others?

It’s hard to pick one product because I love them all! If I had to pick my favourite would have to be the A6 traveler’s notebook.  I love the size and how although it is compact, there is still so much room to write everything you need to.

4) What is your most popular seller?

My most popular seller is the Pocket Wide TN.  I think Pocket size is very popular at the moment as printables and inserts are becoming more readily available thanks to the fabulous designers such as AnniePlans and Homemade Kraft.  It is also a brilliant portable size but with the addition of my pockets it makes it a lovely every day carry.

5) What inspired your shop name?

My shop name was inspired by my daughter! When I was in the first few months of being a new mum, I knew I didn’t want to work outside of the home again if I could help it.  I bought a sewing machine and used old clothes as material and taught myself to sew.  I made lots of items, just for me really and to use in my baby changing bag.  People started to ask me to make them bits too and it really went from there.  The Love From part was my way of making it seem like a gift was arriving every time somebody bought something.  Poppy was my inspiration for learning this new craft so it made sense for me to add her name instead of my own.  I do get messages sometimes where people call me Poppy and it makes me smile.

6) What planner do you use?

The planner I use at the moment is one of my own, an A6 yellow TN and I am in love!! I call it my brain and everything goes into it, new ideas, plans for the future, regular planning for the family schedules and notes and lists galore!  I use Annie Plans A6 sized inserts and growing up goddess daily pages.

7) What is your planning style?

My planning style is pretty much ‘on the go’.  I will sit down on Sunday evening and begin the groundwork, of putting down things I know that will be happening that week, swimming for my daughter, preschool for my son etc.  Then I check it every day and write down my ‘to do’s’ for that day.  Any future plans I have go on a post it ready to be moved over to the next booklet if it isn’t already in there.  I use minimal decoration and functional stickers only.  I do love memory keeping in my journal so I save my creative stickers and washi for that one.

8) What are your social media channels?

My Instagram is @lovefrompoppydesign and I have a Facebook page which is also Love from Poppy Designs.  I am planning on opening a group so everyone can see new products and interact and gather inspiration from each other within the TN community.  It’s on the very long list of things to do 😉

9)What is your planner ‘unicorn’?

My unicorn planner is not so much the planner, but the inserts! My unicorn planner is the one I have now.  But insert peace is something I have struggled with for a while.  I have however been very happy in my Annie Plans monthly booklets so I think I’m pretty much there.

10) What is the link to your shop?

My shop is LoveFromPoppyDesigns and please come over and take a peek.  I am going to be adding more and more to it over the coming months and it would be great for you to join the journey!

Thank you for reading.
