Write, Writing Tips

Networking for Writers by Lizzie Chantree

Networking For Writers by Lizzie Chantree

(AD) I am going to start by saying that I did receive this book free of charge in exchange for a review as part of the Fiction Café review group, this does not bias my review in any way.

So let’s get stuck in. As a budding author trying to build my network and presence online I started reading this book quite dubiously. There are hundreds, if not thousands of books out there all claiming they can help with aspects of the writing industry. Whether that is to give help writing, networking, plotting or something else entirely. Out of all the books I have consumed, very few I felt were full of useful ideas and tips to take away and apply.

Networking For Writers, however, was a different ballgame. The book is split into easy to read, short chapters. Each detailing ways you can get on top with networking. This includes social media management, timelines, marketing, promotions, events and many others. Lizzie even goes as far as to include applications which can be used to help with all these things, such as Canva, BookBrush, Hootsuite for example.

I have come away from reading this leaving a multitude of page flags noting all the most important go to sections and have been implementing new techniques as I was reading. I feel so much better about managing everything now and I have even started regularly using Twitter, which in all honesty, I have struggled with so much previously.

I really do urge any any writers and authors to pick up this book and read it, especially when it comes to promoting your hard written work.
