How To Spot A Psychopath by M.Q. Webb

(Ad) Good Morning!

Today I have a review for How To Spot A Psychopath by M.Q. Webb. This is the first in the Oscar de la Nuit psychological thriller series.

Blurb

When four-year-old Mia Edwards goes missing on a play date, everyone suspects that Jessica Green knows what happened to her, especially Mia’s mother, Holly, but Jessica isn’t talking, and time is running out to find Mia alive.
What isn’t Jess saying?

Forensic Psychiatrist Dr. Oscar de la Nuit knows he can help Jessica, but first he must face his tragic past and confront his own demons to uncover a truth no one expected.

Review

I wasn’t sure what to make of this book. It was a new author to me but the blurb really pulled me in.

It took a while to get into the book but once I hit a few chapters in I was hooked. I really liked Oscar as a character and Jess was definitely a character worth reading about.

I loved the build up and pace of the story and I thought I had it all figured out quite early on but then I didn’t. I was kept on my toes the entire way through, my mind kept switching from who I thought was guilty and what I thought had happened every few pages.

I was a little disappointed by something that happened at the end and I don’t want to give any spoilers but I really wanted more for the people involved.

All in all though this was a fantastic book and I will definitely be picking up the next book in the series.
